Education

BDS have provided structural modular design for cold formed steel units for student accommodation in Oxford and Cambridge Universities. These were provided for a quick cost effective solution for a rapid demand for affordable student accommodation.

BDS employ engineers whom have experience in providing structural design for education centres in prisons to help reform prisoners on release. These structures require a great deal of planning so that they can be installed in one operation to meet high security requirements.

BDS have been employed by contractors to provide structural reports and structural design for primary and secondary schools in York and Sheffield. These designs provided quick installation during school holidays. This allowed the schools to be opened during term time ready for safe use by the pupils and staff.

In addition, educational buildings can also include education centres. BDS inspected a footbridge connecting an education centre in the Dearne Valley. BDS advised on an increased level of transport onto the bridge for passenger vehicles carrying visitors. BDS advice has allowed an increased numbers of visitors to the centre.
